MailerLite: pricing, plans and free plan — everything you need to know

MailerLite at a glance

The numbers people scan for, the plan ladder as published, and the gaps MailerLite leaves — before you read a word of marketing copy.

MailerLite Lean email marketing · design-led

The low-price, design-first option in this category. MailerLite sells itself on a clean editor, a genuinely cheap entry point and a top tier that removes every cap for $25/mo — and it prices on usage rather than feature access, so plans differ mostly by limits rather than by what you are allowed to do. The catch is transparency: it publishes a floor price and nothing else, so the number you will actually pay only ever appears inside its slider.

Where it wins

  • Lowest published entry price in this category, at a $12/mo floor
  • Power lifts every cap — emails, automations, seats, pages — from a $25/mo floor
  • A/B testing on every plan, including the free one
  • Website builder and landing pages included rather than sold as an add-on
  • 150+ integrations, including a Claude integration
  • Sells digital products and paid newsletters, and states it takes no commission on your revenue

Where it costs you

  • Free plan holds 250 subscribers — the smallest free tier in this category
  • No published price for your actual list size; the slider is the only place it appears
  • Free plan is capped at 3 automations, with community support only
  • Annual billing saves 10% — the smallest annual discount here
  • Comfort meters sends at 10× your subscriber tier; only Power is uncapped
  • No mobile app appears anywhere in its feature documentation

Pick it if

  • You want the cheapest credible way into a modern email tool
  • You care about how the emails look and want the editor to do the work
  • You will use the landing page or website builder rather than pay for another one

Look elsewhere if

  • You need a large free tier to grow into before paying
  • You need a CRM, lead scoring or sales pipelines
  • You need to know your exact price before you hand over an email address
Before you commit — what the pricing page doesn't tell you
What you'll actually pay

Nobody can tell you from the published page, and that is the single most important thing to know about MailerLite's pricing. It states "starting $12/month" for Comfort and "starting $25/month" for Power, and explicitly says pricing "is based on usage, not feature access — you pay for the number of subscribers you have and the volume you send." What it never publishes is a tier table. There is no static list of what 1,000 or 5,000 subscribers costs; those numbers render only inside an interactive slider. Treat $12 and $25 as floors at the smallest tier, not as your price. Annual billing saves 10%.

The 10× send rule on Comfort

Comfort gives you "10× the ceiling of your subscriber tier each month" in sends. So the cap moves with your tier rather than being a flat number, and it is generous for normal newsletter cadence — but it is a cap, and if you mail a small list very frequently it is the thing you will hit. Power removes it entirely with unlimited monthly emails, which is most of what the jump from $12 to $25 buys.

Where the automation limit bites

Three active automations on Free, 50 on Comfort, unlimited on Power. Three is enough for a welcome sequence, an abandoned-cart flow and one re-engagement run, and nothing else — it is a real constraint rather than a token one. Separately, "multiple automation triggers" (letting one workflow start from more than one event) is a Power-only feature, which matters more than the raw count once your flows get non-trivial.

Its own two pages disagree about support

MailerLite's pricing page lists community support on Free, 24/7 email support on Comfort and 24/7 live chat plus email on Power. Its features page states 24/7 support across all tiers. Those cannot both be right. We have used the pricing page throughout, since that is the document the plan limits come from — but if free-plan support matters to your decision, get it in writing before you rely on it.

What we could not verify

Four things, and we would rather flag them than fill them in. The exact price at any subscriber tier (slider only). The card-processing fees on digital product sales — MailerLite says it takes no commission of its own, but does not publish what the payment processor takes. Any independently-run deliverability testing; the dedicated IPs and deliverability consultation on premium tiers are real features, but the inbox-placement claims behind them are not auditable. And current third-party review scores, which is why this page has no ratings section.

How MailerLite's features actually work

Not just what's included — the mechanics, read from MailerLite's own pricing and feature pages.

Email design & sending Send

The part MailerLite is best known for. A drag-and-drop editor with 70+ content blocks — surveys, image carousels, countdown timers, coupons, signatures, galleries and event RSVP buttons — so a fairly elaborate email is assembled rather than coded. There is a custom HTML route if you want it, and unlimited saved templates from Comfort up.

The block library is the reason people pick this over cheaper rivals: things like countdown timers and RSVP buttons are usually add-ons or plugins elsewhere.

Automations Automate

A visual workflow builder with prebuilt templates, running anything from a single lead-magnet delivery to a multi-step sales funnel. What changes between plans is how many you can run and how they can start.

What each plan allows

  • Free — 3 active automations
  • Comfort — 50 active automations
  • Power — unlimited automations
  • Power only — multiple triggers per automation

Typical uses

  • Lead magnet delivery on signup
  • Welcome and onboarding sequences
  • Abandoned cart recovery via Shopify or WooCommerce
  • Re-engagement runs against inactive subscribers

Forms & pop-ups Grow

Signup forms plus three pop-up styles — teaser pop-ups, promotion pop-ups and spin-the-wheel — with behaviour and design controls over when each fires. Allowances run 3 forms on Free, 10 on Comfort and unlimited on Power.

Landing pages & websites Grow

Both builders are bundled rather than sold separately, which is a genuine cost saving if you would otherwise pay for a site builder alongside your email tool. You get 1 landing page and 1 website on Free, 10 of each on Comfort, and unlimited on Power.

Segmentation, personalization & Smart Sending Audience

Beyond ordinary merge-field personalization, MailerLite supports dynamic content and conditional block visibility, so one email can show different sections to different segments rather than being duplicated per audience. Smart Sending uses machine learning to time delivery per individual subscriber instead of sending the whole batch at once.

Testing Optimize

A/B testing is available on every plan, including the free one — worth noting because rivals routinely gate it behind a paid tier. From Comfort up it becomes multivariate: MailerLite's own wording is that you can "test multiple variables at once like sending time, sender name, subject lines" rather than one at a time.

Selling: digital products & paid newsletters Earn

Native selling of digital products and paid newsletter subscriptions, plus Shopify and WooCommerce integrations for physical stores. Allowances run 1 digital product or booking on Free, 5 on Comfort and unlimited on Power.

MailerLite states you keep your revenue without "paying us a commission" — a real difference from creator platforms that take a percentage. It does not publish what the underlying payment processor charges, so budget for card fees separately.

AI features Automate

An AI Email Generator for drafting campaign content, plus a Subject Line Generator and an AI Writing Assistant from the Comfort tier up. These are writing aids rather than the agentic tooling some rivals now ship — though MailerLite does list a Claude integration among its connectors.

Analytics & integrations Measure

Reporting covers link clicks, geolocation, signup sources and ecommerce revenue, so you can trace which acquisition source produced which sales rather than only which email got opened. On the connector side, 150+ integrations including WordPress, Canva, Zapier, Shopify, WooCommerce and Claude.

Deliverability Send

Dedicated IPs and deliverability consultation are offered on premium tiers, and a dedicated IP is available as an Enterprise add-on. As with every vendor in this category, the inbox-placement claims are not backed by a published methodology you could audit, and we found no independent testing to cite. Your own list hygiene will matter more day to day than the platform.

Gap worth knowing: no iOS or Android app appears anywhere in MailerLite's current feature documentation — account management looks to be web-only.

Common questions about MailerLite

Honestly: we can't tell you, and neither can MailerLite's pricing page. It publishes "starting $12/month" for Comfort and "starting $25/month" for Power and nothing else — the price at your own subscriber count exists only inside an interactive slider. Those two figures are floors at the smallest tier. Annual billing takes 10% off. If a predictable published price matters to you, that is a real mark against it.
As a trial, yes; as a home, not for long. 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month is the smallest free tier in this category, and you get 3 automations, 2 seats and community-only support. You do keep A/B testing, a website and a landing page on it, which is more than most free plans allow. Expect to outgrow it quickly rather than settle on it.
Caps, almost entirely — which is consistent with MailerLite pricing on usage rather than feature access. Power removes the 10× monthly send cap, lifts automations from 50 to unlimited, makes seats and landing pages unlimited, adds multiple triggers per automation, and upgrades support from 24/7 email to 24/7 live chat. If you send heavily to a small list, that send cap alone is the reason to go up.
MailerLite states it takes no commission on your revenue, which genuinely differentiates it from creator platforms that charge a percentage per sale. What it does not publish is the card-processing fee the payment provider takes, and that is never zero. Budget for processing costs separately, and confirm the exact rate before you build a business on the number.
No — it's an email marketing tool with a good automation builder, and the distinction matters when you're comparing. It has no CRM, no deal pipeline and no lead scoring, so workflows are triggered by email and ecommerce events rather than by sales activity. If you need marketing and sales running off one contact record, look at ActiveCampaign or HubSpot instead.
Every figure here was read directly from mailerlite.com's own pricing and features pages on 23 August 2026. Where MailerLite publishes no figure — most importantly the price at any given subscriber count — we've marked the gap rather than estimate it. Pricing in this category changes often; confirm the current number on mailerlite.com before you buy.
