Four email platforms, priced against the incumbent you're already paying

Kit, AWeber, Moosend and Benchmark Email, measured row by row against Mailchimp and Constant Contact. Published tier tables on both sides, your list size on the slider, and the rows the incumbents win marked as rows they win. Need workflows that react to a CRM instead? That's a different aisle.

The four challengers. Tap one to personalize the page — or tap a few to narrow the table to just those.

What you get by leaving

Four numbers, each read from the vendors' own pricing pages. If one of them is the reason you're here, the tabs above have the working behind it.

40×
bigger free plan

Kit carries 10,000 subscribers free. Mailchimp stops at 250 — with automations switched off entirely, and Constant Contact has no free plan at all.

$15
for a phone line, not $350

AWeber publishes a number and staffs it 24/7 on its $15/mo plan. Mailchimp reserves phone support for Premium, which starts at $350/mo.

0
send caps to think about

Moosend never caps sends and Kit never caps broadcasts. Mailchimp allows 10–15× your contacts a month; Constant Contact bills $0.002 per email over.

$306
a year, at 1,000 subscribers

Kit is $0 at that size against $25.50/mo for the cheapest incumbent plan. Move the slider on the Pricing tab to your real list size.

Mailchimp and Constant Contact were read on 10 September 2026, Kit and AWeber on 6 August 2026, Moosend and Benchmark Email on 23 August 2026. We earn nothing from Mailchimp or Constant Contact.

The short answer

There isn't one winner here — there are four, each of which beats the incumbents at a different thing. Find yourself in one of these and you can stop reading.

Four benefits each, and what they beat

The case for each platform in four points — and beside every point, the Mailchimp or Constant Contact number it is measured against. Where an incumbent wins instead, we have said so rather than leaving the comparison out.

What you're being compared to

Both incumbents publish a complete tier table, which makes this a fair fight rather than a fight between floor prices. Both are quoted billed-annually below, the only basis on which both publish every tier. We earn nothing if you stay with either.

Read 10 September 2026 — Constant Contact from the "Tiered Pricing – Fee Schedule" overlay on its pricing page, Mailchimp by stepping its own "Number of Contacts" selector through all twenty tiers. Mailchimp's list monthly rate is exactly its annual rate divided by 0.85.

Side by side, with a clear pick

All six, row by row, with a named pick on every one — ties included, and the single row Mailchimp genuinely wins. Mailchimp and Constant Contact are the greyed columns: a baseline, never eligible to win. Untick a platform to narrow the table; the rest of the page stays put.

This only filters the challenger columns — Mailchimp and Constant Contact stay for reference, and the rest of the page keeps all four.

Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing or feature page — Mailchimp and Constant Contact were read on 10 September 2026, Kit and AWeber on 6 August 2026, Moosend and Benchmark Email on 23 August 2026. The "Better pick" column is an editorial judgement, and where a row can't be fairly compared we say so rather than inventing one.

What it actually costs at your list size

Every plan from all four, priced at the same subscriber count, with Mailchimp and Constant Contact on the same axis so you can see the gap rather than take our word for it. This is where most comparison sites go wrong — they put Kit at 1,000 next to Mailchimp at 500 and declare a winner.

Common questions

How we compare

Every figure on this page traces back to a vendor's own pricing page. Here's how we put it together.

01

Vendor pricing pages first

Every price here was read off the vendor's own published tier table, not a third-party review. Where a vendor doesn't publish a figure, we say so instead of interpolating and presenting a guess as fact.

02

Matched tiers, not matched names

"Entry plan" means something different at each vendor. We compare by capability — the cheapest plan with unlimited automations, say — because that's the comparison that changes a decision.

03

Ties are allowed to be ties

We name a better pick on every row, but several genuinely end in a draw and a few aren't comparable at all. Manufacturing one would devalue the rows where the difference is real.

04

The incumbents can't win, and that's declared

We earn a commission from the four platforms and nothing from Mailchimp or Constant Contact, so they are shown as a baseline rather than scored as contenders — and where they genuinely beat all four, as Mailchimp does on integration count, the row says so outright.

Still deciding?

Three of the four have a free plan — Kit to 10,000 subscribers, AWeber to 500, Benchmark to 500 — and Moosend runs a 30-day trial with no card. Mailchimp's stops at 250 contacts with automations switched off, and Constant Contact has none at all. Trying two of these costs nothing but an afternoon.
